Grades in an Exam
Go through the exam creation process, for more detailed steps on creating an exam see our help guide Making Exams on Synap
Once you have selected your questions and set the exam as either Static or Dynamic, you'll be able to navigate to Grades.
Creating Minimum Scores
In the grade editor you'll be able to make custom grade labels and assign them a minimum score. A mimum number of 2 grades is required with at least one being a pass grade and one being a fail grade. The system will validate the logic of your grades before you can save them.
Minimum score = the lowest boundry for that grade to be achieved
In the example below 5 grade boundries have been defined, 4 pass and 1 fail
The boundaries translate to:
A = 80% = pass
users with 80% or above will achieve the A grade, and pass
B = 70% = pass
users with 70% or above will achieve the B grade, and pass.
E = 40% = pass
40% is the lowest someone can possibly score in order to pass.
Fail = 0% = fail
users with between 0% and 39% will fail this exam.
Note: Score as a percentage calculated by Synap as:
(total number of correct questions / total number of questions)*100
Scores rounded to 2 significant figures.
